When Chicago’s The Poison Arrows had to put their new album and touring on hold in the spring/summer of 2020, guitarist/vocalist/producer Justin Sinkovich (The Poison Arrows, Sheet Ghosts, Atombombpocketknife, Thumbnail) started constructing tracks for a new project. Drummer Adam Reach (The Poison Arrows, Pink Avalanche) started working with him on several tracks as well. As the project took shape, Justin messaged his long-time friend and File 13 label mate Yukio Murata (My Way My Love, Inoran, The Mortal) in Tokyo to contribute. Yukio dove into every track as a member and co-producer. An album has taken shape with singles being revealed prior to the LP release.
If you are familiar with The Poison Arrows and My Way My Love, imagine these bands utilizing more sequencers, drum machines, and synthesizers in addition to their more typical live drums, guitars, and vocals, all being shared back and forth across continents. We have no idea what the future holds with this project or anything else, who does right? What’s clear is that making music is important right now, however you can, more than ever before.
